Linking contracts to companies
A contract is always tied to exactly one company. This link is what connects commercial terms to the day-to-day work you do for that client.
Setting the company
You choose the company when you create the contract — it is a required field. If you start a new contract from a company's page, that company is pre-selected for you. Only active companies appear in the picker.
What the link drives
- Invoicing — invoices generated from the contract are addressed to the linked company, and you can also create an invoice directly against an active contract.
- Ticket coverage — tickets for that company inherit the contract's coverage rules, so billing outcomes are applied automatically.
- SLA — an SLA policy attached to the contract applies to that client's tickets.
- Renewals — the contract appears in the renewal pipeline and feeds expiry alerts based on its end date and notice window.
Account manager
You can name an account manager on the contract. If you leave it blank, SummitPSA falls back to the company's account manager, so renewals and alerts still reach the right person.
You can filter the Contracts list by company, status or type to quickly see every agreement that belongs to a single client.
