Importing assets from your RMM
This feature is still in development. Automatic discovery and import of assets from an RMM platform is on the roadmap but is not available yet. For now, add assets manually — see Adding assets.
What the RMM integration does today
SummitPSA's RMM integration works through inbound webhooks, and it creates tickets from RMM alerts — it does not create or import asset records.
When an RMM alert arrives at a webhook URL, SummitPSA:
- Parses the alert and raises a ticket with source RMM.
- Tries to match the alert's hostname to an existing active asset by name. If it finds one, the new ticket is linked to that asset and inherits its company.
- If no asset matches, the ticket is still created — just without an asset link. No asset is added.
Configure these endpoints under Admin → RMM webhooks.
Until import ships
So that hostname matching can link RMM tickets to the right device, create your asset records first — manually for now — with names that match the hostnames your RMM reports.
We will update this article when RMM-driven asset import becomes available.
