Stock and inventory overview

·

The Stock & inventory module catalogues the products and services you buy and sell, tracks quantities across storage locations, and manages purchase orders. Open it from the Stock navigation item; viewing requires the stock: view permission.

Products and services

Every item has a unique SKU and a name, plus optional category, costs, manufacturer and part number. Two flags shape how it behaves:

  • Is service — marks the item as a service rather than a physical good.
  • Track stock — whether quantities are counted for this item.

The stock list shows headline stats: total SKUs, physical items, services, and a low-stock count. You can search and filter by category, or show low-stock items only.

Stock levels and locations

Quantities are held per location in stock-level records, each with its own reorder point and optional maximum. A level is flagged low when the reorder point is set and the quantity has fallen to or below it. The list adds up totals across all locations for each product.

Movements

Every change to a quantity is logged as a stock movementin, out, adjustment or transfer — with the quantity, location, a reference and any notes. A product's detail page shows its most recent movements.

Purchase orders

Purchase orders capture what you have ordered from a vendor and let you receive stock against them, which updates inventory automatically. See Managing stock items for the day-to-day steps.
