How pricing and licensing work

·

SummitPSA uses simple, flat per-technician pricing with every feature included.

What you pay for

Pricing is a flat $79 per technician. There are no feature tiers or add-on modules — every install gets the full platform.

What counts as a seat

A seat is a billable technician. In the license client, the seat count is the number of active, non-system agents. System accounts (such as the internal scheduler) are not counted, and client portal contacts are never seats.

The license key

Your license key (format SUMMIT-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) does double duty:

  • It is the credential the installer uses to authenticate and pull the application image.
  • It is stored in your install and used by the built-in license client to check status.

How licensing is enforced

Every install runs a license client that periodically phones home to the license server with the key and basic telemetry, then caches the response. This client is designed to fail open: it never raises errors and never hard-locks the application. If the license server is unreachable, the last good response is kept (a grace window the banner interprets).

Going over your seat limit is tracked for accountability and billing, but is not enforced by locking the app.
