Hidden modules and navigation

·

You can tidy the sidebar by hiding modules your team doesn't use. This is configured on the Admin → Settings page (requires admin_settings.manage) and stored in the hidden_modules setting.

Important: hiding is nav-only

Hiding a module only removes it from the menu. Its routes stay fully accessible by direct URL, so deep links — emailed quote links, asset and contract cross-references, and similar — never break. Hiding is not a security control; use roles and permissions to restrict access.

Core modules can't be hidden

These core modules are always visible: Dashboard, Tickets, Companies, and Contacts.

Hideable modules

Any of these may be hidden: Assets, Knowledge base, Canned responses, Projects, Contracts, Renewal pipeline, Schedule, Time, My timesheet, Invoices, Stock, Quotes, and Reports.

How to hide a module

  1. Open Admin → Settings and find the module-visibility card.
  2. Untick any module you want removed from the sidebar (ticked = visible).
  3. Save. Core modules cannot be unticked, and unknown keys are never hidden.

The admin-only System section is gated by role and is intentionally not part of module visibility.
